I established Vasundhara Eye Centre in 2008. It provides a broad range of eye health services- OPD, diagnostic and surgical, with an emphasis on anterior segment and oculoplasty. I served in the Army Medical Corps before transitioning to civil life and have close to 30 years’ experience as a doctor. The provides holistic eye care in a pleasant and clean atmosphere. Our endeavour is to provide the patients visiting us high quality ophthalmic care, delivered with commitment and compassion.
I am the chief eye surgeon. Read my detailed background below. Two other highly experienced ophthalmology colleagues are also consultants at the clinic: Dr Jitender Kaur and Dr Rakhi Mehta. Both of them attend the clinic twice a week usually.
Apart from clinical work, I oversee the administrative work of the center as well, which includes human resource management, upkeep and running of the establishment including licenses, quality certificates, procurement of material, equipment, renewal of contracts with vendors, upgrading of infrastructure and compliance with govt. notifications.
In addition, I am a visiting consultant at some nearby hospitals where I conduct surgeries requiring general anaesthesia and retina related work. These are situated within a 5-kilometre radius of my center.
My attachments include Ayushman and Aakash Hospital, Dwarka .
About 40% of my time is devoted to charitable work, conducting medico-social camps and providing eye care free of cost for marginalized sections of society. This is conducted through a trust I founded in 2009, called Sagar Trust. Till date we have served over 20,000 beneficiaries through grassroots camps at their doorstep. The work of the Trust is highly subsidized by using the infrastructure of our eye center for surgeries and advanced care which cannot be rendered at the doorstep of the community itself. Thus, we can carry out a larger quantum of work with modest funds.
